F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

Is there a minimum age for drivers?
All drivers need to be at least 25 years old to drive an RV.

Do you accept credit cards?
We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover

What is the difference between Class C and your Class A RV rentals?
All are considered recreational vehicles, however Class C RVs are basically oversized, maintenance intensive, top heavy camper shells placed atop standard 12 to 15 passenger van chassis.  Most Class C’s have the same engines, transmissions, tires and cooling systems found on a standard cargo or passenger van.  Some say that the result is a very “spongy” unconfident ride and many times those small tires give way to all that poorly displaced weight.   Class A RVs are “bus” type units which are specifically built for all that weight and are equipped with large diesel engines, Allison transmissions, heavy duty chassis and air brake systems.  They are easier to drive, and the ride is much more solid and comfortable.  It’s like comparing apples to eggplants.

Do I need to purchase any additional insurance for my RV rental?
Most insurance companies will provide full RV rental coverage for their policyholders at little or no additional charge.  Contact your insurance agent to see whether not coverage is available under your current policy and will transfer over to your RV rental.  We can also work directly with your insurance company to help you obtain coverage.  If coverage under your own policy is not available, don’t worry - we can direct you to our own insurance carrier to secure insurance coverage.

Will I get any training before I leave on my RV trip?
Of course you do.  We will give you a full, comprehensive orientation and training on your specific rental unit so you can safely operate all its features.   We’d rather you spend your precious vacation time enjoying your trip, not trying to figure out how to turn on your hot water heater.  For experienced RVers it may only take 30 minutes to learn a particular unit, however first time RV renters my need an hour or two.  We’ll happily take as much or as little time as you need.

How many people can travel in the RV while it is being driven?
This depends on the particular motorhome you rent.  The rule of thumb is one person for every seatbelt in the RV.  Children should be placed in safety seats at all times while the vehicle is in motion.

Are pets allowed on the RVs?
We love pets and the majority of our motorhomes allow pets with an additional $75.00 fee per pet.  There are some restrictions on few units in the fleet but in most cases it’s no problem!  Please call for details.

Is smoking allowed in the motor homes?
No, smoking in our motorhomes is strictly prohibited and penalties for smoking are always enforced.  No exceptions.

What is provided with my RV rental and what do I need to bring?
Every Allstar Coaches RV rental includes full convenience and hospitality kits with fresh linens, pillows, blankets, and towels. Full service galleys include dishes, flatware, glassware, pots and pans, convection & microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker and utensils. Many units also feature washers and dryers.   All you really need to bring are your clothes/personal items and any food and beverages you enjoy.

Aside from the RV rental itself, what types of expenses will I have to pay for on my RV trip?
You will have to pay for your own campsites, any excursions or activities you decide to take, the fuel you use, depending how far you are traveling and you’ll want to stock up your RV rental with your favorite food and beverages.

How much gas mileage does an RV get?
There are a few variables, like the type and size of the RV, the terrain, personal driving habits, etc.  Our coaches generally get about 8-12 MPG.  Common sense dictates that if you are floored going up a mountain you’ll get the low side, and if you’re traveling at the speed limit  on a flat Florida highway, you’ll get maximum fuel economy.

Can I tow my vehicle with my RV rental?
In some cases towing is permitted.  Restrictions do apply.  Contact your Allstar Coaches RV Rental representative for details.

Do the television’s work while vehicle is in motion?
In most cases in-motion satellite service is available.  The majority of our rental units are equipped with an in motion satellite system. Rental units are also equipped with DVD players that also work while the motorhome is in motion.

What happens if the motorhome has any mechanical issues while I’m renting it?
Although we’re pretty close, nobody’s perfect.  Our motorhomes are meticulously maintained inside and out, but sometimes these complex systems can occasionally malfunction.  You can rest assured that Allstar Coaches cares about your vacation and has your back.  Every one of our RV Rentals include nationwide 24/7 road assist and round the clock technical support service.  As a matter of fact, during the checkout and orientation process you will be provided with a direct phone number for your own personal on-call technical support concierge.  We have top rate service representatives which normally resolve 99% of all issues over the phone and if necessary can dispatch a mobile service representative directly to your location.

What times can I pick up and return my RV rental?
Pick up or deliveries can normally start 9:00AM and all RV rentals must be checked back in must be returned one hour prior to sundown on the return day. On occasion and subject to availability special arrangements may be able to be made for earlier pickups. Please contact your Allstar Coaches RV Rental specialist if you need to pickup before 9:00 AM

Are the motorhomes you rent self contained?
Yes, all of our units are 100% self contained.  They each feature on board generators for power, full service kitchens and functional restrooms with ample holding tanks.

What are the benefits of renting an RV compared to a typical fly in vacation?
Motorhome rentals offer vacationers the most value for their travel dollar because RV travel incorporates transportation, lodging, meals and entertainment.  And the larger your group is, the more economical it becomes.   Think about it, there are no expensive airline tickets, hotel rooms or rental cars to buy and no need to dine three meals a day at expensive restaurants.  You can prepare all your own meals and go where you want to go when you want to go.  Plus you travel in comfort and luxury with no crowded airports, embarrassing security screenings, extra baggage fees and best of all, there’s no extra charges for that window seat.  With an RV rental just getting to your destination is fun!

What type of campsite or campground do I need that will accommodate my RV rental?
Most of the reputable campgrounds around the country have full facilities with adequate power, water, sewer and cable TV hookups that will accommodate large motorhomes.  Ideally you will want a full hookup site with 50 AMP power.  Also, just a tip many camp resorts offer pull thru sites are much easier to navigate into and out of.  Hooking up to the campground’s facilities is surprisingly easy and we’ll show just how to do it during the checkout process.
