From the Everglades to the beautiful sandy beaches, Florida has a unique range of environments, plants, and animals to discover. If you plan to take your luxury RV rental through Fort Myers, we recommend that you spend some time at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve.

Slough

The Six Mile Cypress Slough (pronounced “slew”) Preserve is an 11-mile-long wetlands area that covers over 3,500 Florida acres. This area filters rainwater and guides it toward the Estero Bay and is home to a diverse range of plants and wildlife. Here you can find alligators, otters, turtles, wading birds, and even migrating butterflies and birds.

A boardwalk runs through the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, making it easy for you to explore the wetlands and catch a glimpse of the wildlife that lives there. The boardwalk is open to the public from dawn to dusk, and the park’s interpretive center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission into the park is $1 per hour per vehicle or $5 per vehicle for the day.
